Mathematics is not a practical tool, it is a medium of logical thinking. It is calculation and decision without prejudice. Even the sciences are prejudiced. New scientific paradigms only arise when we encounter anomalies that force us to change our way of thinking. Mathematics is a way of building an interpretation that doesn’t take into account the sketchy perception limits and sloppy sentiments that we apply to the real world.
